Hepatic and Extrahepatic Fascioliasis Mimicking Colon Cancer with Hepatic Metastasis

چکیده

Fascioliasis hepatica is a rare parasitic infection affecting the hepatobiliary system. On imaging examination, it presents as multiple hepatic abscesses and bile duct dilatation. Extrahepatic fascioliasis of gastrointestinal tract condition, resulting from duodenal migration fasciola flukes. The current case showed both colonic masses, mimicking colon cancer with metastasis. However, diagnostic clues multimodality approaches, especially in combination magnetic resonance imaging, led to an accurate diagnosis extrahepatic fascioliasis.

Necrotic Hepatic Hemangioma Mimicking Liver Metastasis at

73-year-old male was a victim of sigmoid colon cancer. He received a sigmoid-colectomy 10 years ago. He suffered from watery diarrhea about 3 times per day for 2-3 months recently. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a heterogeneously enhanced mass in the transverse colon and a 9x8.2 cm well-marginated mass in the left lobe of the liver. The hepatic tumor showed mixed signal intensity on T1...

Hepatic and Extrahepatic

Microsomal UDP-glucuronosyltransferase activity toward the bile acids (chenodeoxycholic, deoxycholic, ursodeoxycholic, lithocholic, and glycolithocholic) has been detected in human specimens of liver, kidney, and intestinal mucosa. The characteristics of hepatic and extrahepatic UDP-glucuronosyltransferase activities toward these bile acids were compared with respect to kinetic parameters and o...

FRZB up-regulation is correlated with hepatic metastasis and poor prognosis in colon carcinoma patients with hepatic metastasis.

Frizzled-related protein (FRZB) was up-regulated in hepatic metastasis samples compared with primary colon cancer samples in our previous work. However, the clinical relevance of FRZB in colon cancer hepatic metastasis remains uncertain. The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic value of FRZB in patients with colon carcinoma hepatic metastasis after hepatic resection. FRZB expression w...

Hepatic Metastasis from Colorectal Cancer

The liver is the most common site of metastasis in patients with colorectal cancer due to its anatomical situation regarding its portal circulation. About 14 to 18% of patients with colorectal cancer present metastasis at the first medical consultation, and 10 to 25% at the time of the resection of the primary colorectal cancer. The incidence is higher (35%) when a computed tomography (CT) scan...

Accessory spleen hypertrophy mimicking colon cancer metastasis.

Accessory spleen is a congenital form of an ectopic splenic tissue. In this report, we present a case of a patient who was followed with the diagnosis of rectal and sigmoid colon cancer and an accessory spleen hypertrophy, which was thought to be colon cancer metastasis in the left hypochondriac region. After colectomy and splenectomy, accessory spleen that mimics cancer metastasis was diffrent...
